Top 5 Mother's Day Movies!!!

In honor of Mother's Day this Sunday I have decided to post my top 5 movies with the best mommies. A team of movie buffs watched hours of film to find the perfect 5 so here they are...

5. The People Under the Stairs (1991)

People Under the Stairs Trailer!!!

Wendy Robie played "Woman" or "Mom" in this very underrated Wes Craven film. She plays a woman that is married to her brother of all people, so right there this lady is a little bit crazy. What really drives her over the edge is that she has the Hole in the Wall gang stuck in her basement. This is one movie with a bat shit crazy mother in it. Oh yeah it has AJ Langer!!!

4. Mommie Dearest (1981)

Mommie Dearest Trailer!!!

Faye Dunaway played Joan Crawford in this wonderful family picture. This one has some of the best lines in any '80's flick out there. Who could forget the wire hanger scene, still get nightmares to this day. Well actually it makes me smile each time I see a wire hanger. On a side note my mom hated when my sister and I would watch this gem back in the day on HBO. Still great flick and performance by Dunaway very cheesy.

3. Psycho (1960)

Psycho Trailer!!!

This one was tough because no one plays the mother. She is played by a corpse and by Anthony Perkins in drag. But to drive your kid this nuts to put him in drag and kill hot blonds in a run down hotel deserves some recognition. If you've never seen this one it really stands out as a great twist ending.

2. Friday the 13th (1980)

Friday the 13th Trailer!!!

Betsy Palmer played the original killer in the long running franchise. She played mommy to the future killer Jason. Pamela Voorhees is a great mother; she kills the kids that let her poor boy drown. There's just one problem she doesn't stop with those two she keeps going and going... till she meets her end. She deserved mother of the year for her revenge on those horrible sex crazed teenagers. Go Mrs. Voorhees!

1. Mother's Day (1980)

 Mother's Day Trailer!!!

Beatrice Pons (Rose Ross) plays Mother in this heartwarming story of a single mother and her two misunderstood boys. The two boys are a bit slow and tend to like raping and killing lost women in the woods. This is a Troma movie so you know it is grade A quality. She plays the most out of her mind mother in movie history. She leads her boys to rape murder and destroy anything in their way. That is one crazy bitch. Gotta sit down with mom on Sunday and check out Mother's Day the whole family will love it!!

Please leave your favorite mother's day movie. I would love to hear everyone's favorite.
Till next time...

Why did this get canceled?! Episode 2

Just the Ten of Us (1988-1990)

Created by Dan Guntzelman and Steve Marshall

Here we are with the next episode of my why did this get canceled spots. Today is one of the first TGIF shows of the early to late '90's. For those of you that live in a box or your parents basements,  TGIF was on Friday nights. It was bursting with shows like Perfect Strangers, Full House, Baby Talk, that show with the nerd, and the other one with the guy from Dallas. They were family shows that were made to keep families at home instead of being out on the streets on a Friday night.

This was a spin off of a little show called Growing Pains, another classic. Gotta love that Seaver family from Long Island. The great minds at ABC decided that Growing Pains had enough funny to be spread out onto another show and night.

10 of Us followed the lovable Coach Graham T. Lubbock and his family from Growing Pains world to California because he got a job at a Catholic school. Coach was played by comedian Bill Kirchenbauer, now that's a last name. His wife was played by Deborah Harmon. They were a fun loving couple with eight kids. Hence the name of the show!!! Get it. ABC does it again!

The show followed the family and their ups and downs which such stories as money problems and other silliness. The true stars of the show became the four teenage daughters that took over the show. They were played by Heather Langenkamp, Jamie Luner, Brooke Theiss and JoAnn Willette. The girls were all different with the girl with the causes, the slut, the dumb one and the nerd. What a funny concept. Rounding out the kids were a son played by Matt Shakman and another daughter played by Heidi Zeigler. The other children were just babies during the show so who cares.

Funny story about this show it was a ratings winner when it came out. It got picked up for two more seasons but for some reason it was let go after the third. The story lines change to follow the girls. One story line had the girls forming a all girl group(never seen that before on a family show).

I use to watch this one because I was young and thought the girls were hot; man was I wrong! This show needs to be remade asap. Can we get a DVD at least? I remember USA airing the show all the time in the mid '90's before they became the Burn Notice channel.

Give Just the 10 of Us a try again. Gotta ask why did this get canceled?

Tune in next time when we discuss Titus!!!
