Why does FOX cancel all of their shows? Just to name all the shows that have gone through the great people of FOX would make up it's own blog. Today we have Titus, one show that really should have lasted. 

The show revolves around the comedy of Christopher Titus. If you get the chance check out his comedy special Norman Rockwell is Bleeding, it is by far one of the funniest stand up specials ever. Titus is about a family for the new age, you have the drunk father with no wisdom and tough love, the half brother that is insane, the young couple that are very co-dependent, and their friend who is clearly gay. I for one love this show because it throws what we know of sitcoms on it's ass.

The cast really shine in the show, they shot this like a play in front of a live studio audience. Christopher Titus is the star, he plays himself for the most part. Cynthia Watros plays is girlfriend Erin, who comes from a more messed up family than Titus. Zach Ward plays Titus' half brother Dave. You might remember Ward from a little movie called A Christmas Story, he plays the bully that gets his ass beat. David Shatraw plays Tommy, Titus' friend who acts very gay. Rounding out the cast is Papa Titus played by Stacy Keach. 

There are black and white scenes in the show that feature Titus talking about what is happening. Almost like a little voice in his head. There are flash backs like when Titus falls into a fire drunk, which is a true story. That was what really put this show apart from the rest, it was based on stories from Titus' real life. Some plot lines include: Mom Titus shooting her husband, Papa Titus' drinking problem and Erin's dysfunctional family.

I own this one on DVD and it still holds up today even though it isn't that old. If you have a dysfunctional family and who doesn't. This show is for you. 

I read on line that they are going to bring this show back as a sequel with Titus divorced and his dad dead. Again he is going to take stories from his real life. I hope it does come back.
